Violations of international human rights standards during the detention of Nikolai Martynenko - "this is a very bad sign that law enforcement bodies actually continue to commit illegal actions". This was stated by the head of the board of the Ukrainian Helsinki Union for Human Rights (UHHRU), the director of the Kharkiv Human Rights Group Yevgeny Zakharov, the "Main" reports with reference to "Espresso". TV ».

"This leads to the fact that a lot of decisions of the European Court against Ukraine are satisfied," said the human rights activist.

He stressed that in the case of Nikolai Martynenko, "human rights standards -" the rights to freedom, personal inviolability, which protects from arbitrary arrests, and about the unfair trial "are" grossly violated ".

In particular, he noted, Martynenko was detained without the sanction of a judge: "This is a gross violation of the Constitution and Article 5 of the European Convention".

He also noted that "a great surprise" announced pledge of 300 million hryvnia: "This is absolutely contrary to all legal norms. He should not be so big ". In support of Martynenko's detention, the human rights activist also sees violations of international standards: "They say that he traveled abroad many times. But he also returned many times. There is no reason to think that he will escape. He voluntarily surrendered the mandate, he came to all interrogations. Therefore, this detention, and even more so the desire to leave him in custody during the investigation, is absolutely contrary to international standards ".

"The fact that this is a violation of international standards is absolutely certain. But, nevertheless, the charge is precisely this course is. This is a violation of human rights standards in this field, universally recognized in Europe, "said Yevgeny Zakharov.

He also called the Bobrovnik judge "odious", referring to the report that the criminal proceeding against this judge: "He is addicted. This again will be the reason for the European Court to say that in this case, not only the 5th, but also the 18th article of the European Convention on Human Rights was violated - this is a sign of political persecution ".

The human rights activist recalled that for the same violations the judge Kireeva was accused: "Bobrovnik should have thought that Kireev was already sitting. As if he were not the same ".

"To my great regret, detention without the sanction of the court, the desire to keep a person in jail, because it is easier, and the desire at any cost to choose the measure of restraint in the form of custody, the reference is for serious crimes, the content of a person in the cage, although (this contradicts ) To many decisions of the European Court - this is a violation of fair trial standards, "summed up Yevgeny Zakharov.

"There is a lot of positive activity in the activity of NABU.. They have cases that have already been brought to court, there have been sentences on these cases. But you can not use the means of struggle that violate human rights so rudely as they do in this matter, "added the human rights activist.
