The first shipment of equipment from the British unit will be delivered to Estonia

On Wednesday in the town of the Defense Force in Tapa, the equipment of the United Kingdom Armed Forces will be delivered, this is the first batch of equipment delivered to Estonia by the British unit.

On Wednesday, Estonia will also receive Challenger 2 tanks, Warrior infantry fighting vehicles and various auxiliary vehicles, notes postimees.

Last Friday, about 130 soldiers from the United Kingdom arrived in Estonia, who are part of the NATO combat group, arriving this spring, consisting of approximately 1,200 soldiers. Earlier, 80 servicemen from Britain started their work in Estonia, who in cooperation with Estonian servicemen are preparing for the arrival of the personnel and equipment of the NATO Combat Team.

On March 20, 50 soldiers from France will also arrive in Estonia. They will serve as part of the NATO battle group for eight months, and then they will be replaced by the Danes. The rest of the personnel of the combat group with equipment will arrive in the coming weeks.



The United Kingdom will be in command of the NATO combat group deployed in Estonia, France and Denmark also participate in its work.

The fighting group includes about 1200 soldiers from the Allied countries. The United Kingdom reported that its contribution to the combat group would be an armored unit of 800 troops, armed with tanks, self-propelled howitzers and armored cars.

France reported that its contribution consists of a unit of 300 servicemen, whose armament includes tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and armored cars.
