The consolidated version of the document "Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia and the situation in the Crimea" the EU legislative body will vote on Thursday, its own "Ukrinform".

In the draft resolutions, the deputies demanded that the Russian regime immediately release 46 Ukrainian citizens who are illegally detained in Russia and the territory of the occupied Crimea, including Roman Sushchenko.

The documents express support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine and require Russia to leave the annexed Crimea and the occupied territories in the Ukrainian east.

European parliamentarians demand prolonging the sanctions regime against Russia until the Minsk agreements are fully implemented and the Crimea will not be deoccupied. In addition, there is a need to introduce new personal sanctions against persons who are involved in the violation of human rights in the east of Ukraine and in the Crimea.

Deputies also supported the initiative to create an international mechanism on the issue of de-occupation of Crimea by Russia.
