The Verkhovna Rada voted to create a museum on the Postal Square in Kiev. At a meeting on Thursday, July 5, 294 deputies voted for the resolution on the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage on Pochtovaya Square.

So, the Rada instructed the Cabinet to put the object "The plot of the coastal urban quarter of the Medieval Kyiv" on the Postal Square in the State Register of Monuments.

The Parliament recommends that the government and the KSCA establish a museum on the Post Square "Center of the Medieval City", and also prohibit any construction work if they are not related to the security of the cultural object.

Metropolitan authorities Rada also recommends to discuss with the public the prospects of creating a museum in the Post Square.

Recall, during excavations in the Pochtovaya Square archeologists found a whole street of the times of Kievan Rus. Until recently, it was not known what would be the future fate of the find, since at this point the construction of a shopping center was to begin.

Mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko promised that the street will be preserved.

Recently, activists have held several actions against the construction of the Postal Square.
