In Kiev in 2018 at 163 facilities, outdoor lighting will be replaced by LED. This was announced by the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko, the press service said on Wednesday, February 14.

In total, the city will allocate 300 million UAH for the modernization of street lighting.

"At present, about 80-90% of street lighting do not meet modern requirements and standards for energy efficiency, working hours and environmental standards. And our task is to install modern outdoor lighting in the capital, "- said the Mayor of Kiev.

According to him, every year Kiev spends UAH 120 million on payment for outdoor lighting of the city. Klichko stressed that the modernization of street lighting - a priority for the metropolitan authorities.

"This will allow us to save 30 million UAH annually. These are significant funds. And this year we will replace lighting at more than 160 sites in the capital, "Klitschko noted..

In general, around the city will install almost 12,000 LED-lamps. In particular, outdoor lighting will be replaced in five parks, in 39 adjacent territories and on 119 streets, squares, avenues, bridges. Soon, a new modern LED lighting will be on the boulevards of Friendship of Peoples, Vaclav Havel, the streets of Saksaganskoye, Zhilyanskaya, Heroes of Sevastopol, Marshal Grechko, Nikolai Zakrevsky, Naberezhnoe Shosse, Navodnitsky Park and Solomensky Landscape Park and other objects.

It is noted that modern equipment has already been installed on the streets of Elena Teligi, Petra Sagaidachny, General Almazov.
