At the mourning ceremony came as ordinary citizens and politicians. In particular, the farewell ceremony was attended by the second president Leonid Kuchma and his wife, in whose cadenza Kadenyuk flew into space.

Also present were the first president Leonid Kravchuk and the third president Viktor Yushchenko, members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, including Deputy Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv, Culture Minister Yevgeny Nishchuk, Ecology Minister Ostap Semerak, and the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Nazar Kholodnitsky.

In addition, the Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, the Adviser to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Gorbulin, the ex-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Moroz, the Head of the State Guard Administration Valery Gelety, the mayor of Kiev Vitaly Klichko, the people's deputies of the current and previous convocations of the Verkhovna Rada, as well as a significant number of people in military uniform, in the form of the Air Force of Ukraine.

Recall, Leonid Kadenyuk - the first and to date the only space flight, the cosmonaut of Ukraine, test pilot, Major General of the Air Force of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine.

He flew into space in the framework of the joint Ukrainian-American space mission STS-87 Space Shuttle Columbia, which was held from November 19 to December 5, 1997.

As reported URA-Inform, Kadenyuk died January 31 in Kiev from a heart attack after a morning run in the park. He will be buried at Baykovoye cemetery in Kiev on February 2.
