As explained on Monday, January 26, the secretary of the Kyiv City Council, deputy mayor of the capital Vladimir Prokopiv, at the moment many drivers do not agree with the new speed limits. Now in Kiev, starting from January 1, there is a speed limit of up to 50 kilometers per hour. Such a high-speed threshold on all roads of a megacity without exception - is absurd.

In the city there are several tens of highways with high-quality road surface, bumpers, overground and underground pedestrian crossings. All this allows them to move around quickly and safely, "the city official explained, adding that the city authorities are developing a draft decision" On approving the list of sections of the road network on which the speed of 80 kilometers per hour will be allowed in both directions.

The preliminary list of areas where speed is proposed to be increased consists of 22 streets. This is most likely to be:.

Prospekt Pobedy (from Vozduhoflotsky overpass to Chernobylskaya street);.

The Great Ring Road (from the Gorodskaya Street to the intersection with Gas Pipeline and from Gas Pipeline to Minsk Avenue);.

Street Gorodskaya (from Stetsenko to Gostomel highway);.

The ring road (from Victory Avenue to Trublaini Street);.

Prospect Obolonsky (from Bogatyrskaya to Malinovsky);.

motorway R-69 (from the Ozernaya street to the outskirts of Kiev);.

Naberezhno-Rybatskaya Street (from the Havana Bridge to the Electricians Street);.

Naddnipryanskoe highway;.

Naberezhnoe highway (from Poshtova Ploshchad to Nadnepryansky Highway);.

The capital highway (to the street of academician Zabolotny);.

Les Kurbas prospectus;.

Prospect Cosmonaut Komarov;.

South bridge crossing.

At the same time Prokopiv noted that the list of roads still agrees, but if Kyivrada supports the document in the near future, the speed increase will take place from April 1.

At the same time, he explained that in winter, due to difficult weather conditions on all metropolitan roads, there will be a single limit of 50 kilometers per hour.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the restriction of the speed of traffic in settlements of 50 kilometers per hour entered into force on January 1.

The relevant resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on November 10, 2017, and on November 27 it was published in the official government newspaper Uriadovy Courier.
