In 2018, Kiev plans to repair at least 300 kilometers of roads and driveways. On this on Monday, January 15, said the mayor of Vitali Klitschko.
According to him, the city's roads were inherited in an awful state, some were not repaired for 20-30 years. In 2016, we repaired 200 kilometers of roads, and in 2017 - 300, recalled the mayor, assuring that at least 300 kilometers of roads are planned to be repaired this year.
With such pace of repair of road surface, for two or three years, Kiev must meet European standards for the quality of roads, - I am sure Klitschko. At the same time, he assured that repair of the road is not only a new asphalt covering. This and the new sidewalks, new lighting, new transitions, this is an integrated approach.
The Metropolitan Government controls the quality of the new road surface and the effectiveness of the contractor's use of funds in the repair work, and the contractors give a guarantee for new roads in five years, - explained the capital's mayor.
However, Klitschko noted that this year in Kiev will continue to update important transport routes. So, in the spring, under favorable weather conditions, work will continue on the streets of Elena Teligi, the Kulzhenko Family, Alma-Ata with a viaduct across the tramway tracks, Vladimirskaya, Naberezhnoe Shosse, two traffic junctions - at the intersection of Komarov Prospect and Vaclav Havela Street.
In addition, in 2018 it is planned to overhaul Vernadsky Boulevard, Tychyna, Bandera and Palladin Avenue, Darnitskaya Square, Academician Tupolev, Zabolotny, Dovzhenko, Fedorov, Metro through the Rusanov Strait and many other objects.
Recall, as reported URA-Inform, on Thursday, January 11, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the concept of the development of highways until 2022. To date, 97% of the roads in our country need capital repair or current repair, people's deputies said at a government meeting. In this regard, the Ministry of Infrastructure was instructed within three months to develop a draft State target economic program for the development of public roads for 2018-2022.
