According to him, so many people on New Year's Eve are the absolute record of the whole country. For example, in 2015, the New Year at Sofiyskaya Square was met by slightly more than 40 thousand Ukrainians, and in 2016 - about 70 thousand, in 2017 the New Year on the Sofia Square was met by about 100 thousand people.

According to the forecast of the tourism department, in the period from December 19 to January 19, holiday grounds in Kiev will be visited by about four million people, of which about 100 thousand tourists from other regions of Ukraine and about 10 thousand tourists from abroad.
