On New Year's Eve, the funicular worked on a "full" delivery of citizens and guests of the capital from Podil to the main city trees on the St. Sophia and Mikhailovskaya squares.

In just one night, city transport carried more than a million citizens who preferred to celebrate the New Year not at home, but on the main city squares.

Let's add that the funicular system from Podol to the Upper Town was built in 1905.

The upper station of the Kiev funicular has access to the upper terrace of the Vladimir Hill. The lower funicular station at the present location was opened in 1929. Nearby is the metro station "Pochtovaya Ploschad" and Rechnoy Vokzal.
