The Kyiv City Council adopted appeals to the Verkhovna Rada, which recommends banning the use and sale of plastic bags on the territory of Ukraine. For this decision, 85 MPs voted, Zn reports.. ua. "In Ukraine there are more than 500 plastic bags per person per year. The decay period of one is more than 100 years. This leads to environmental pollution, causes clogging of streets, green and coastal zones, reservoirs. Given this, about 40 countries have already adopted regulations that either prohibit or restrict the use of plastic bags, "- said the deputy of the Kyiv City Council Konstantin Yalova. According to the press service of the Kyiv city council, an initiative on banning the use and sale of disposable plastic bags was registered on the website of the electronic petitions of the Kyiv City Council.
