Recall, a three-story building along Khreshchatyk Street, 40/1 was built by architect Vladimir Nikolayev in 1873-74. After the Second World War, it was opened by the Central Deli. In the 1970s, it was planned to reconstruct the block with a tolerable building, but it was defended and in 1994 it was recognized as an architectural monument.
