After five years of trials, the court in Kropyvnitsky found guilty man in the murder, rape of a 16-year-old schoolgirl from the village of Subottsy.

The accused to the last denied his guilt, calling evidence to be falsified, but the jury supported the charge.

“The court cannot take evidence for the same reason that they in no way indicate me. Yes, they point to the place and the method, the time when the events took place on the Vishneva Street, but in no way indicate that my fault is somehow proven. I'm not to blame. Please release, ”the prosecutor said.

The prosecutors presented 26 volumes of the case, including traces of blood, the victim’s things in the suspect car, testimony and examination.

The court found the man guilty of the murder combined with rape, attempt on sexual actions and abduction of someone else's property.

The man was sentenced to life imprisonment, obliging him to pay 4 million UAH of the mother of the deceased and more than 1 million UAH to cover legal costs. The convict announced his intention to appeal the decision.

Diana Khrinenko disappeared on August 24, 2018 after the celebration of Independence Day. Her body was found only six months later 12 km from the village. Suspect, a 28-year-old resident of a neighboring village, was detained in Poland in August 2019.
