Ukrainians continue to receive pensions and other social payments. Citizens who have disabilities can apply for a separate type of pension. The Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) in the Dnipropetrovsk region told how a disability pension is assigned and what the size of payments depends on.

Who can receive a disability pension.
The PFU explained that the disability pension is awarded to:.
in the event of a disability resulting in complete or partial loss of ability to work, subject to the required insurance period;
regardless of when the disability occurred: during work, before getting a job or after stopping work;
for the entire period of disability.
What determines the size of a disability pension?.
The Foundation noted that three disability groups have been defined (I, II, III) depending on the degree of disability. The amount of the disability pension is:.
Group I - 100% old-age pension;
Group II - 90% old-age pension;
Group III - 50% old-age pension.
What documents are needed to apply for a disability pension?.
The PFU noted that to apply for a disability pension, the following documents must be submitted:.
passport;
identification number (registration number of the taxpayer’s registration card);
documents on experience acquired before January 1, 2004: work book, military ID, diploma of study (full-time) and others (if the work book and other documents are not digitized);
a document confirming the change of last name, first name, patronymic (if necessary);
children's birth certificate;
an extract from the inspection report received from MSEC / an extract from the decision of the expert team assessing daily functioning, added by the body assigning the pension.
Documents can be submitted in the following ways:.
online: web portal of electronic services of PFU, portal \;
in person: to the PFU service center (regardless of place of registration or residence);
by mail: to the territorial body of the PFU (if the person temporarily resides abroad).
