Palokhin said that at night unknown persons damaged the locks on the doors of the enclosure, which is why the animals ran out. One lioness was quickly driven into a utility room, where she was held until specialists arrived with tranquilizers.. Police, rescuers and trainers were involved in the search for the second one.. According to Palokhin, everyone who could safely approach the animal helped. The lionesses are called Simba and Sima. Palokhin noted that after the animals return, the locks in the enclosure will be replaced and they can henceforth be kept in the center. He added that the lionesses were brought to him temporarily back in 2023, but the owner went abroad, and the animals remained. The State Emergency Service reported that a drone with a thermal imager was used to search for one of the lionesses, which made it possible to quickly determine her location.. The police also confirmed their participation in search activities. According to the Khmelnitsky regional prosecutor's office, several other animals in neighboring enclosures died during the incident..
