Since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 61 times. The number of assaults decreased by a third compared to yesterday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in an operational report on Thursday, October 16.

Thus, in the Severo-Slobodsk and Kursk directions, the Russian army twice stormed the positions of the Defense Forces.

In the Yugo-Slobodsky direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled seven attacks near Vovchansk and Vovchanskiye Khutory, towards Kolodeznoye, Bologovka and Kutkovka. Two more clashes continue.

In the Kupyansky direction, seven enemy attacks were recorded in the areas of Petropavlovka, Peschany and Boguslavka. Two clashes continue.

In the Liman direction, our defenders repulse two attacks towards Druzhelyubovka and Liman.

In the Konstantinovsky direction, the Russians stormed seven times in the areas of Shcherbinovka and Rusiny Yar, towards Stepanovka and Sofievka. Two clashes continue.

In the Pokrovsky direction, the invaders attacked 18 times in the areas of Shakhovoy, Dorozhny, Krasny Liman, Novoekonomichny, Rodinsky, Pokrovsk, Zverovoy, Kotliny and Filia, towards Belitsky and Balagan. 13 assaults have already been repulsed.

In the Aleksandrovsky direction, Russian troops tried 13 times to advance to the positions of the Defense Forces near Zeleny Gai, Novokhatsky, Sichnevoy, Sosnovka, Verbovoy, Novomikolayevka and Novogrigorovka. Five clashes are still ongoing.

In the Orekhovsky direction, the Russians once unsuccessfully attacked in the Stepovoye area.

Two enemy attacks were repulsed in the Dnieper direction.

In the Slavyansk, Kramatorsk and Gulyai-Polye directions, the invaders have not yet carried out offensive actions.

Let us remind you that during the Dobropil operation in the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region, units of the Defense Forces returned 412.9 sq.. km. In the Dobropolye area, the Russian army lost almost 14 thousand. soldiers killed, wounded and captured.
