He repeatedly exposed corruption schemes, in particular during the construction of fortifications, and criticized the work of local law enforcement officers. In August 2025, he stated that the unknown people fired at the window of his country house, and a smoke grenade was subsequently discovered in the apartment. Takhtai suggested possible involvement in these events of the SBU employee and reserve officer. At the same time, the security service categorically denied any participation in these incidents. Then the police opened criminal proceedings on the fact of hooliganism. The investigation in the case continued in early September.

Now law enforcement agencies establish the circumstances of the death of a journalist.

The results of the examination should give an answer whether his death could be related to professional activities.

Recall, according to the investigation, during the construction of defensive fortifications in the Donetsk region, which was built by the Poltava regional military administration, and which cost almost 400 million hryvnias, officials appropriated half of this amount.
