Most Ukrainians support Ukraine’s entry into the EU and NATO, the results of a survey of the sociological group “Rating” said. However, in several regions, among the share of the population, there is a skeptical attitude to entry into the North Atlantic Alliance.

Thus, Ukrainian membership in the European Union support 69% of respondents. Ukrainian membership in NATO supports 67% of citizens.

“At the same time, a critical attitude (up to 20%) in the Kharkov and Donetsk regions is observed in NATO.. Also among the respondents - “pessimists” up to half of the respondents are opposed, or they will not participate in a possible referendum on this issue, ”sociologists noted.

The survey was conducted in the period from November 20 to December 4, 2024 - telephone interviews using a computer). In total, 2000 respondents of national and 3600 respondents of the subsidiability in nine regions were interviewed. The survey was conducted among citizens of 18 years in all areas except the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbass, as well as territories where there is no Ukrainian mobile communications at the time of the survey. The sample is representative by age, floor and type of settlement.

Earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine’s entry into NATO is the best security guarantee for the country in combating Russian aggression. At the same time, he said that if Ukraine is not taken to NATO, then we need to return nuclear weapons.

In turn, a special representative of the United States of America in Ukraine and Russia Keith Kelloga said that Ukraine’s chance to return its nuclear weapons “somewhere between minimum and zero”.
