The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) postponed the rotation of the mission at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant due to the lack of security guarantees from Russia. This is stated in the commentary of the speaker of the Foreign Ministry of Georgy, published on Wednesday, February 5.

He emphasized that the Kremlin is not the first to use blackmail as a tool for intimidating international experts and undermining their independence.

According to him, Moscow has at least two reasons to put pressure on the independence of the IAEA: the first to impose an international recognition of the illegal occupation of the Ukrainian nuclear power plant, the second is the manipulation of the operational situation in the area around the station.

Tikhiy noted that Ukraine highly appreciates the work of the IAEA in unprecedented safety conditions.

" We urge the international community to firmly support the IAEA and decisively condemn the unprecedented pressure that the aggressor state continues to exert on its leadership, ”said the speaker of the Foreign Ministry.

The quiet once again reminded that the occupation of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is illegal and creates a serious threat to a nuclear incident.
