Every year, Christians of the Eastern rite in Ukraine celebrate the holiday of the Ascension of the Lord. He is one of the most important and important Christian holidays. It is believed that Jesus Christ, after his resurrection, was on earth with his disciples for another 40 days, and it was on this day that he ascended into heaven.

When will be ascension in 2025.

The Ascension of the Lord does not have a fixed date, because its celebration depends on the date of the celebration of Easter - the Resurrection of the Lord.

Every year, ascension is celebrated on the fortieth day after Easter.

That is why the date of the holiday did not affect the transition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU) and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) to the new calendar.

Since the date of Easter is changing annually, the date of celebration of the Ascension of the Lord is also shifting. In 2025, Easter falls on April 20. So, the ascension of the Lord in 2025 will be celebrated on May 29.
