Why can burn out at work.

The Ministry of Health explained that professional burnout is an emotional, physical and psychological exhaustion caused by prolonged stress or excessive workload at work.

This is not just fatigue after a difficult day - this is a state when a person no longer experiences pleasure from his work and does not have energy to fulfill it.

The causes of professional burnout include the following:.

Excessive load. Constant deadlines, large volumes of work and high expectations can cause overwork.

Fuzzy responsibilities. Lack of understanding of their tasks or role.

Monotone. Routine tasks without the possibility of development or creativity deplete emotionally.

Lack of support from colleagues or leadership.

Nevalism between work and personal life. Constant employment without time for rest and personal interests leads to a loss of balance.

How to recognize professional burnout.

The Ministry of Health explained that the signs of burnout are:.

Constant fatigue, not disappearing even after rest.

Decrease in performance and reduced professional self -esteem.

Lack of motivation to work.

Distance from work, cynical attitude to it.

Physical symptoms: headaches, sleep problems, digestive disorders.

Severe fatigue that violates performance (if, for example, it is accompanied by an adaptation disorder), requires sick leave for 23 weeks. The state of severe depression often requires even a longer stay on sick leave, because restoration of working capacity takes more time than the disappearance of symptoms. It is important not only to be on sick leave, but also to regularly visit a mental health specialist.
