On January 22, 2025, a meeting of the Council of Judges of Ukraine was held, during which one item on the agenda was considered, namely: the appeal of the meeting of judges of the Economic Court of the city of Kyiv with notification of interference in the activities of a judge and the adoption of measures to ensure the independence of judges and the authority of justice. This was reported by the Council of Judges of Ukraine. 23 members of the RSU took part in the meeting.

According to the “Judicial-Yuridicheskaya Gazeta”, the meeting of judges of the Economic Court of the city of Kyiv was convened as a reaction of judges to the events that occurred on the premises of the court and related to judge Anatoly Ivchenko. Earlier, the judge himself appealed to the Council of Judges of Ukraine.

In general, SBI investigators conducted searches in the judge’s office and place of residence, and also served him with suspicion of committing high treason. Such actions of the State Bureau of Investigation related to its decision in September 2012 in case No. 5011-61/11340-2012. This decision was upheld by the ruling of the Kyiv Economic Court of Appeal dated 3. 12. 2012 and by the decision of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine dated 21. 01. 2013, and by the decision of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine dated 20. 05. 2013. admission of the case to the proceedings of the Supreme Court of Ukraine was denied. As Anatoly Ivchenko previously noted in his commentary, “it is obvious that the investigation did not even try to determine who exactly in the cassation court left the decision unchanged; the quality of the suspicion is evidenced by this text: “someone interfered in the activities of the judges of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, who decision of the economic court in Kyiv dated 19. 09. 2012 and the decision of the Kyiv Economic Court of Appeal dated 03. 12. 2012 left unchanged" Please note that this case was never before the Supreme Court of Ukraine.

"

“You and I have just discussed the draft decision and agreed that there is a need to make such a decision and, in accordance with the operative part, to recognize the actions related to searches in the premises of the economic court of the city of Kyiv and at the place of residence of judge Anatoly Nikolaevich Ivchenko without determination investigative judge, containing signs of interference in the activities of a judge in the administration of justice and threaten judicial independence,” said Chairman of the Council of Judges of Ukraine Bogdan Monich.
