Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky expressed confidence that newly elected US President Donald Trump will be able to influence the process of Ukraine's accession to NATO. .

He noted that initially several countries took an opaque position towards Ukraine and did not support its integration into the North Atlantic Alliance.

“These were simply false words that Ukraine would be in NATO, because decades passed, and Ukraine never became a member of NATO. .

Among such countries, according to Zelensky, were the United States and Germany, which negotiated with Russia on this issue, but ended up losing because their arguments were always based on previously reached agreements with Moscow.



Zelensky emphasized the importance of an equal level of respect for Ukraine from other countries, noting that Ukraine continues to fight for its security guarantees and strives to become a full member of NATO. .

In addition, Zelensky noted that now four countries remain against Ukraine’s entry into NATO:  USA, Germany, Slovakia and Hungary.
