In Tatarstan, another hit was recorded at one of the largest oil refineries in Russia - Taneko. This was announced by the head of the Center for Combating Disinformation (CPD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andrey Kovalenko in Telegram on Saturday, January 11.

“Taneko is one of the largest and most modern refineries in the Russian Federation, with a processing capacity of more than 16 million tons of oil per year,” he wrote.

Kovalenko said that this plant in the city of Nizhnekamsk plays a key role in providing fuel to the Russian army. Therefore, “knocking out refineries and oil depots directly affects the Russian Federation’s ability to wage an intensive war”.

At the same time, Kovalenko recalled that a drone attack on this refinery in April 2024 damaged the primary processing unit at the plant.

“The distance from the front is over 1000 km,” he added.

Let us remind you that in Russia they complained about a massive drone attack tonight. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that their air defense allegedly shot down 85 drones.

Meanwhile, the airports of three Russian cities were closed due to the danger of drones - Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Ulyanovsk.
