The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine accepted the greatest assessment of the results of an independent assessment of its internal audit conducted by the international auditing company KPMG along the birch-grass line.. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported about this.

In accordance with KPMG, the structure, policies, procedures and processes of the internal audit of the Ministry of Defense comply with all established international standards. It is important to note the high level of professionalism and adherence to ethical standards in the activities of auditors.

The main outcome of the assessment was confirmation that the internal audit function complies with international standards of professional practice and code of ethics. KPMG experts highly appreciated the work of the Internal Audit Service of the Ministry of Defense, considering the creation of the Audit Committee as an effective mechanism for protecting auditors from undue political influx.

This also includes recommendations to further enhance internal audit. Among them are the development and implementation of strategy for the future, automation of processes to ensure efficiency and detailing of work programs.

This is aimed directly at improving control functions and ensuring more transparent and effective audit procedures at the ministry.

The assessment from an international audit company reinforces the high standard of management and financial discipline in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
