Due to the war started by the Russian Federation, many Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes and became internally displaced persons (IDPs).
In Ukraine, an employer can receive compensation for labor costs when employing displaced persons during martial law under the terms of an employment contract, including part-time work. The Ministry of Reintegration explained how an employer can receive such compensation.

The department noted that compensation is provided in the amount of the minimum wage for each employed migrant. Now this amount is 7,100 hryvnia per month, and from April 1, an increase to 8,000 hryvnia is envisaged.
“The maximum duration of payment of compensation is 3 months from the date of employment of IDPs, and in the case of employment of an internally displaced person with a disability – 6 months,” the message says.
To receive such compensation, the employer must take several steps:.
employ IDPs;
apply;
wait for the results of the application review;
receive funds.
The Ministry of Reintegration added that the employer can submit such an application no earlier than five calendar days, but no later than 6 months from the date of employment. This can be done by contacting the employment center or through the “Diya” portal.
