On April 5, the so-called “Transnistrian Moldavian Republic” announced a drone attack on a military unit located 6 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. The target was allegedly a radar station. The unrecognized republic reported its damage. At the same time, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense noted that Ukraine is not involved in this event.

According to information from the so-called PMR, a kamikaze drone flew to the Rybnitsa region. It indicated that no one was hurt.

Later, the Bureau of Reintegration Policy of Moldova noted that a number of provocations continue in the region aimed at sowing panic and tension, including to draw attention to this territory. It is noted that competent law enforcement agencies should investigate the event, but they do not have access to this perimeter in the self-proclaimed state.

Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Andrey Yusov, in a commentary for Suspilny, said that Ukraine had nothing to do with the incident and definitely “would not waste precious drones for such minor provocations.”. He added that there are forces that want to destabilize the region against the backdrop of the alleged preparation of the so-called “PMR” for an attack on Odessa.

“They are spreading panic and causing provocations there, but the situation is controlled and constantly monitored,” he concluded.

Let us remind you that the Bureau of Reintegration Policy of the Government of Moldova commented on the video recording of the destruction of a military helicopter, which was distributed by the media of the so-called “Transnistrian Moldavian Republic” on March 17.

Moldovan officials said that the forces controlling Transnistria are trying to “cause fear and panic in the region”.
