As the suspect's lawyer Ruslan Volynets said, this is the first meeting where the court was supposed to begin considering the case on the merits, but there was not enough time for this, since the court first considered the prosecutor's request to remove one of the lawyers, and then to continue the preventive measure.
Boguslaev's lawyer said that a team of lawyers will prepare an appeal against the decision to extend the preventive measure. According to Volynets, Boguslaev’s health is deteriorating sharply, about which there are corresponding certificates from the pre-trial detention center doctors.
During the meeting, the prosecutor voiced a number of risks affecting the request to extend the preventive measure. In particular, we are talking about possible concealment, obstruction of the investigation, influence on witnesses, as well as the destruction and concealment of evidence.
Boguslaev was detained in October 2022 along with the head of the enterprise’s Department of Foreign Economic Activity.
Journalists of the “Schemes” program received documents indicating that the detained President of Motor Sich Vyacheslav Boguslaev has Russian citizenship.
