Despite the war, Ukraine continues to pay pensions and other social benefits. So, from April 1, there was a recalculation of pensions for working pensioners. The head of the board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Yevhen Kapinus, in an interview with TSN, told on what basis the recalculation of pensions takes place.
Recalculation of pensions: how it happens.
Kapinus recalled that in the solidarity system, the amount of the pension of each pensioner depends on two individual indicators: the length of the insurance period and the amount of wages - the official one, from which contributions to the PFC were calculated.

He explained that at the same time, the Law of Ukraine “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance” stipulates that every pensioner has the right to recalculate pension.
According to him, recalculations can be both mass and individual:.
An individual recalculation is when a person applies to the PFC with an application for a recalculation and provides some additional document that affects the size of the pension, or when circumstances have arisen that give the right to increase his pension.
Mass recalculations of pensions are carried out in connection with changes in legislation and do not require a personal appeal of the pensioner. These are recalculations due to an increase in the subsistence minimum, the minimum wage or the indexation of pensions, the establishment of age allowances.
“As a result of such recalculations, the amount of the increase for each specific pensioner is determined individually, taking into account the personal indicators of the person: the law according to which the pension was assigned, the year the pension was awarded, the duration of the insurance period, the amount of wages, the fact of work and the pensioner’s belonging to a certain age category,”.
