Crimean Tatars will be the basis for supporting the Ukrainian liberation of the occupied Crimea, says Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Ayder Rustemov.
In an interview with Alexei Gordeev for ZN. UA, he expressed confidence that the Crimean Tatars remaining on the peninsula are the potential for resistance to the Russians in a guerrilla war.
“These are the forces of resistance on which the Ukrainian state can rely.. It is hard to imagine Ukrainian Crimea without Crimean Tatars. I hope everyone understands this. This war began with the occupation of Crimea, and by the will of Allah it will end with his liberation,” Rustemov said..
At the same time, he said that although there are no exact statistics, it is known that on the first day of the announcement of the so-called partial mobilization in the fall, it was the Crimean Tatars who received mass summonses..
“They were taken from the villages in groups. Therefore, about five thousand Crimean Tatars left Crimea. Unfortunately, most of them were damaged along the way due to lack of documents.. Perhaps even half returned to the peninsula.
They left, the threat of mobilization subsided a bit, and they returned,” the mufti said about the situation on the peninsula.
