The European Commission has adopted a proposal to include roaming in the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. Ukraine has become one step closer to the free roaming zone. This is stated in the message of the European Commission.

This proposal will now be considered by the Council of the European Union. After the consent of the Council, the Ukraine-EU Trade Committee must take a Joint Decision on the provision of roaming of the mutual regime of the internal market.

According to the press service of the European Commission, the speed of Ukraine's integration into the internal EU roaming market will depend on the pace of approximation and implementation of the relevant EU legislation in Ukraine..

Accession of Ukraine to the EU free roaming area is one of the key measures of the revised Priority Action Plan. This plan is a roadmap for the full implementation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area between the EU and Ukraine and further integration of Ukraine into the EU Single Market. This is the first case of the spread of the EU internal market regime in Ukraine.

Earlier, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen spoke about the need to introduce Ukraine into the free roaming zone..

If the proposal is approved, Ukrainians will be able to use free mobile roaming on the territory of EU member states.

This means that Ukrainians visiting the EU will no longer have to pay additional fees for using mobile communications..
