The Kakhovka dam on the Dnieper in the Kherson region is the basis of a large hydroelectric power plant, and is also one of the two main road crossing points in the lower reaches of the Dnieper River. On November 11, the object received significant damage due to destruction by the retreating Russian troops in order to impede the upcoming advances of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
