According to Irina Koshkina, executive director of the Svoi Charitable Foundation, which has been treating cancer patients for many years, there has not been such a bad situation with chemotherapy drugs in the country for a long time..

Over the past few years, the Ministry of Health has been purchasing in full through the State Enterprise " Therefore, pharmaceutical companies did not supply these drugs to pharmacies - there was no point. Especially now, given the risks associated with the war.

Now throughout the country - both in budgetary and private institutions, and in pharmacies - there is an acute shortage (or rather, a complete absence) of certain oncological drugs.. Because of what, cancer patients are forced to either travel in desperation and look for them all over Ukraine, or stop treatment, and the disease progresses.

" - It is necessary to “reach out” those who were taken last year. The minimum number of drugs is now provided to us by pharmacies that independently import registered drugs from abroad. We do not work with illegal ones, which are imported in general.. There are cases when relatives of cancer patients travel to Poland, Turkey, etc.. and try to buy the necessary medicine there. But here is the problem: our appointments are not accepted in all countries"

On January 12, the issue of the shortage of drugs for the treatment of cancer was considered at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on the health of the nation, medical care and medical insurance on the proposal of MP Olga Stefanishina.

“The statistics on available drugs were incorrectly submitted, new purchases have not yet arrived, and therefore there is a shortage of medicines,” said Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.

However, this is not the main reason, writes in his article " Why there are no basic cancer drugs in Ukraine and when will they appear" UA Alla Kotlyar: "

However, the State Enterprise " In a comment under a post on the Medzakupok social networks, Ivan Zelensky, head of the Drop of Blood Charitable Foundation, notes that MZU signed " After that, additional agreements were signed on the transfer of deliveries to 2023.. And this, according to him, is one of the main reasons for the lack of a cure..

During January, most problematic issues will be closed, and all oncological patients who need help will be provided, Minister Viktor Lyashko promised in an interview with Ekaterina Bulavinova. - Separately, those who have complex treatment regimens and now do not have drugs, we send them abroad for treatment. There is an application on the website of the Ministry of Health. It can be filled. Through our hub in Rzeszow, organized jointly with the EU, under the coordination of WHO, we refer patients for treatment abroad, to European clinics, where they are treated free of charge for patients"

The current situation ZN. UA commented on the acting General Director of the State Enterprise " “The situation with complicated access of patients to important oncological medicines arose due to a complex of problems. It is partly due to the violation of the reporting regime.. More than 800 healthcare facilities must submit up-to-date information on drug residues in hospitals twice a month. We often see a situation where healthcare institutions report poorly, sometimes in one day they can write off medicines that should have lasted for six months. This greatly complicates the supply planning process..

The situation is also affected by the violation of logistics routes, which occurred as a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.. Because of this, some suppliers cannot fulfill their obligations in a timely manner..

" We have additionally announced 40 procurement procedures requiring delivery by the end of February 2023.

The Ministry of Health also asked suppliers to expedite the delivery time under already concluded agreements and additionally sent requests for humanitarian assistance.. These measures should help cover the shortage of the necessary medicine."

" UA information on the schedule for the next supply of these drugs (in brackets - the figures for annual purchases), as well as their balances in medical institutions as of January 25:.
