In Ukraine, an international driving license is issued on the basis of a national driving license. The validity of the document is three years, but it cannot exceed the validity of the national driving license. Ukrainians who want to obtain (exchange) an international driving license should contact a convenient territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The national driving license, on the basis of which the international one was issued, is not withdrawn. After checking the submitted documents, the official of the TSC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately returns to the applicant a national driver's license, a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad.

To issue (exchange) an international driver's license, you do not need to pass exams. An international driver's license without a national is invalid.

The following documents are required for its registration:.

original driver's license and its copy;

passport of a citizen of Ukraine (if an ID-card is provided without information on the registration of the place of residence in the contactless electronic medium, a certificate of registration of the place of residence is provided together).

Why they may refuse to issue an international driver's license.

Grounds for refusal to provide the service:.

disqualification from driving;

person is wanted;

driver's license is wanted;

establishing the fact of forgery of the national driver's license;

expiration of the national driving license on the date of issue of the international driving license;

inconsistency of the applicant's personal data.
