In Ukraine, the work book is the main document confirming the work experience of a person before January 1, 2004. Surname, name, patronymic, person (full name) indicated in the work book must correspond to the full name in the passport. The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) told whether corrections in the work book can affect the length of service and who has the right to make them.
In case of disagreement on the spelling of the full name, changes are made to the labor. The procedure for filling out work books is determined by the Instruction on the procedure for maintaining work books for employees, approved by order of the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Social Policy dated 29. 07. 1993 №58.
The PFC noted that according to paragraph. 13 Instructions, a change in the entry, in particular about the name, is made on the first page of the work book: with one line, cross out the name entered with an error and write down the correct one.
“Relevant documents are noted on the inside of the cover, which are the basis for making changes, which are certified by the signature of the head of the enterprise or an authorized body and the seal of the enterprise or the seal of the personnel department,” the message says..

A change in the record of a person’s full name is made by the employer or an authorized body at the last place of work on the basis of a person’s document (passport, birth certificate, etc.).. ), indicating the number and date of the document.
The PFC explained that in order to correctly correct the name, it is necessary to contact the employer with whom the person is currently in an employment relationship.
