The court refused to take Poltava Mayor Oleksandr Mamai into custody, the Kievsky District Court of the city reported.. Mamai is suspected of unauthorized dissemination of information about the deployment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed under martial law (Art.. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

" In Poltava, a closed court session to consider a petition for a measure of restraint for Mayor Mamai O. Based on the results of consideration of this petition, the court decided to refuse to apply a measure of restraint in the form of detention to Mamai Alexander Fedorovich,” the statement says..

Recall, on December 29, SBU officers informed Alexander Mamai about suspicion.

He now faces up to 12 years in prison.. According to the investigation, the defendant disseminated data that was not made publicly available by either the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense, or other authorized state bodies..
