Instead of condemning Russia for not allowing an international mission to the site of the terrorist attack in Olenivka, the UN took a mediating neutral position. Commenting on the decision to disband the mission that was supposed to investigate the tragedy in the colony in Olenivka, but did not start work, said Dmitry Lubinets, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada, commenting on this on the air of the United News telethon.

The Ombudsman said that Ukraine sent official requests to the UN about the work of the mission, offered online meetings, and was also ready to provide it with its evidence, but the mission did not achieve progress in five months.. Also, the UN did not condemn the actions of the aggressor who did not allow it to the site of the terrorist attack, and did not even name the guilty party out loud..

“Once again, in my opinion, we saw the mediation-neutral position of the UN. Not a word of condemnation of the Russian side, which did everything to prevent this international mission from going there, instead of directly saying: Russia did not let us in, we condemn it,” Lubinets said..

Recall that the UN explained the decision to disband the mission by the “lack of conditions” under which it could conduct an investigation in Olenivka, as well as the lack of guarantees of security and access.
