At one time, with thirty colleagues from NABU, the head of the main division of NABU detectives, Andrei Kaluzhinsky, was involved in the defense of the capital and worked to protect a particularly important facility in the government quarter of Kyiv. Subsequently, a group of NABU detectives was sent together with the SBU to work on identifying saboteurs, traitors and collaborators and to participate in the inspection of those leaving the territories occupied by the enemy. “We carried out cleansing of the liberated settlements, identified persons who contributed to the aggressor, documented the war crimes committed by the occupiers. In parallel with this, we have established the receipt of information from various sources about the places of concentration of equipment and manpower of the enemy, transferred to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. The result is a confirmed defeat of dozens of columns of equipment of the Russian occupation forces, places of concentration of personnel and weapons. In addition, cases of our troops falling into ambushes prepared for them by the invaders were prevented.. We also directly participated in aerial reconnaissance, advanced into the “gray zone”, even came under artillery fire, ”Kaluzhinsky said about his combat experience and colleagues from the bureau.

In particular, he said that some of the detectives are still working in the Interdepartmental Coordination Center for the use of special units of the security and defense sector, and some more are involved in special operations in the temporarily occupied territories.. Thus, NABU detectives almost 40 times helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the destruction of enemy equipment and manpower, seven times removed the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the threat of shelling and destruction, transmitted more than 12 thousand messages to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, which were useful to the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, interviewed more than 40 thousand people.

Also, NABU employees worked on demining territories in Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions. They managed to detect and neutralize 65 explosives, 126 remnants of shells in the Grad MLRS, 35 artillery shells with a diameter of 122 mm, ten mines and more than two hundred shell fragments in the Grad, Uragan, Tornado-G MLRS. -U"

“Unfortunately, there is already one seriously wounded detective in the Kharkiv direction. I think he may be declared unfit for military service..
