In a few days of successful counter-offensive actions of Ukrainian defenders in the Kharkiv region, it has already been possible to de-occupy a dozen settlements and hundreds of square kilometers of territories. Unfortunately, along with the joy of liberation, there is also sad news.. In the recently de-occupied village of Grakovo in the Chuguevsky district, there is already the first information about the atrocities of the occupying forces, reports Suspilne.

According to the National Police, Grakovo was captured by Russian invaders from February 25 and was under their control until September 7. After the liberation of the village, a local resident turned to the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to report the fact of the crime of the occupying troops.

In March, Russians approached a man with a demand to bury the bodies of two men.. It was impossible to refuse. The dead showed signs of torture and shots in the back of the head..

" The military came to me, threatened me with weapons, led me to the place where there were two young guys. already dead. I've been living here for 7 years, I don't know them. Where they came from, how they got here, I don't know.. People had to be buried,"

After burying the bodies, the witness marked the spot so that later, when Grakovo was liberated, he would inform the police. According to the man, the occupiers behaved aggressively and were not allowed to leave the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The village has significant destruction, so people were forced to live in cellars or basements.

According to the head of the Investigative Department of the Kharkiv Region Police Sergey Bolvinov, this fact is not the only one. Only in Grakovo there are two more similar places, but they will be examined only after the clearance of the territories.

Over the past week, the National Police opened a thousand cases on the facts of war crimes of Russian occupiers.
