During a government meeting on September 7, he noted that currently Ukraine has already unblocked the receipt of macro-financial assistance from the EU in the amount of 8 billion euros..
“Today, the European Commission announced the allocation of 5 billion euros. Another 3 billion expected by the end of this year. I am grateful to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen for a quick and timely decision. I hope for an equally quick adoption of the proposal by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU,” said Denis Shmihal.
It also became known that during a working visit to Berlin and Brussels, Denis Smigal, together with German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the leaders of the European Union, began political consultations on a new macro-financial assistance program for 2023.
“We will need support from the EU in the amount of 12 billion. Euro. Together with other assistance from allies and international financial organizations, this will make it possible to cover the planned budget deficit and ensure the stability of our economy,” Shmihal said..
