“We are leaving”: IAEA mission resumed movement towards Energodar

After stopping at a checkpoint in Novo-Aleksandrivka, the mission of the International Nuclear Energy Agency decided to resume movement in the direction of Energodar, Zaporozhye region, where the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is located.

“Our advanced mission security team went in the morning to check. And they confirmed that the situation is tense. But we have decided that we are moving forward. But were forced to return. But we must move. Right now. I just spoke with the regional military command, he himself dialed me to agree on this.. We started working. We are leaving,” the head of the mission, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi told reporters at the checkpoint.

In the morning, the IAEA monitoring mission went to Energodar, which has been under Russian shelling since early morning. The delegation stopped about 20 kilometers from the front line.
