Due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, hostilities continue, martial law has been introduced and air raid sirens are sounding. Before the start of the new academic year, the Ministry of Education and Science published an algorithm of actions for teachers when conducting classes and turning on alarms, which was developed based on the recommendations of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

What should be prepared shelters in schools.

Appropriate conditions should be created in educational institutions and preliminary measures should be taken to prepare all participants in the educational process, namely:.

familiarization with the location of the shelters of the fund of protective structures of civil protection, the rules of conduct during the movement to the shelter and stay in it;

an explanation of the actions provided by the Emergency Response Plan or the Instructions of the establishment;

discussion of the necessary things that participants in the educational process should take with them to the shelter;

distribution of participants in the educational process in shelters, taking into account the capacity and location;

installation of signs of the direction of movement to shelters for quick and safe movement.

What should a teacher do when the air raid signal sounds?.

In the event of a danger signal, teachers must act according to the following algorithm:.

the responsible person turns on the existing notification system of the establishment;

the teacher notifies the students about the threat, and the parents about the movement of the children to the shelter;

it is necessary to organize the movement of two columns in the classroom and quickly leave the office;

assistants may be involved to accompany the primary classes;

a medical professional should be involved to provide prompt medical assistance;

after the announcement of the alert signal, the responsible persons must check all the premises of the institution for the absence of participants in the educational process and employees of the institution, upon completion of the check, go to the nearest shelter;

students who are in the courtyard of the institution, during the warning signal, must independently move to the nearest shelter of the fund of protective structures;

inside the protective structure, responsible persons should help the participants in the educational process quickly and calmly take their places;

during the stay in the shelter, teachers and responsible persons provide the necessary support for a calm stay in the protective structure;

after the announcement of the end of the alarm, teachers and responsible persons ensure that the exit of all participants in the educational process from shelters is carried out in columns or groups;

when moving to shelters, it is necessary to take into account the presence of inclusive groups and classes.
