Terrorist country Russia manipulates reports about the situation at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZAES) in the temporarily occupied Energodar in order to prevent the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from going there. This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

ISW experts drew attention to the fact that Russia blocked the approval of the final document of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), which, in particular, criticized the seizure by Russian troops of Europe's largest nuclear power plant - ZNPP. They also note that Russia “has begun to implement strategies similar to those used by Iran, trying to manipulate and possibly delay the IAEA mission at the Zaporizhzhya NPP in the near future.”.

At the same time, as the analysts of the Institute noted, Russia is taking such steps even despite the fact that the IAEA mission, which is going to the ZNPP, in addition to the head of the agency, Mariano Grossi, includes 13 more experts from countries relatively neutral to the war in Ukraine. For example, the mission did not include representatives of the United States and Great Britain..

ISW experts drew attention to the fact that Russian special forces are torturing employees of the Zaporizhzhya NPP so that they do not tell IAEA inspectors about the security breach.

Also, the Russian authorities are trying to limit the presence of Ukrainian employees at the station, and the occupiers are collecting signatures from Energodar residents demanding that Ukrainian shelling be stopped in order to provide them to the IAEA mission..

Recall that on August 28, Russia targeted the residential areas of Energodar in order to blame the Armed Forces of Ukraine for this.. This was done on purpose on the eve of the planned arrival of the IAEA mission to ZNPP.
