The National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine recommend that Hasidic pilgrims refrain from visiting Ukraine this year to celebrate the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah.

“This decision was made jointly with the Israeli law enforcement agencies and other responsible Ukrainian authorities.. This is due to the high likelihood of rocket attacks and actions by the Russian side aimed at destabilizing interethnic relations and damaging the international image of Ukraine,” the SBU said in a statement..

Law enforcers assured that they would carefully check information about possible threats to pilgrims in Ukraine. In particular, the verification of pilgrimage sites and routes of movement of believers has already been intensified, and counter-sabotage and anti-terrorist measures are being taken..

“At the same time, despite all security measures, Russia can use the arrival and mass gathering of pilgrims to stage provocations.. Therefore, taking into account the above information, we ask you to refrain from traveling to Ukraine, ”the ministry asks..

But those who still dare to travel must strictly comply with the requirements of security measures: curfews, responding to air raid signals, and also follow all instructions from law enforcement officials.
