A difficult situation remains in the east of Ukraine, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the pressure of the occupying forces and do not allow them to advance in the Avdiivka and Bakhmut directions. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks near Soledar, Kodema, Krasnogorovka, Pervomaisky and a number of other settlements. According to the Ukrainian military, on August 22, the enemy’s efforts were still focused on conducting active operations in the Bakhmut and Avdeevka directions.. In the Bakhmut direction, the invaders carried out a fiery defeat near Bakhmut, Mayorsk, Soledar, Zaitsevoy, Shumov and Kodemy. The enemy tried to conduct reconnaissance in force in the area of \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bthe settlement of Zaitsevo, as well as to conduct assault operations near Soledar and Kodema, but had no success and retreated.

In the Avdeevka direction, the enemy used tanks, cannon artillery and multiple launch rocket systems in the areas of Vodyanoye, Novobakhmutovka, Krasnogorovka, Experienced and Nevelskoye. Launched an airstrike near Maryinka. Unsuccessfully led the offensive near Krasnogorovka and Pervomaisky.

There was a certain activity of the enemy in the Novopavlovsk direction. There, the Russians shelled the settlements of Pavlovka, Prechistovka and Ugledar. They fought offensive battles in the areas of the settlements of Novomikhailovka and Zolotaya Niva, but again they were not successful.
