Latvia handed over four military transport helicopters Mi-2 and Mi-17 to the Ukrainian army. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Latvia Artis Pabriks.

“Ukrainian Air Force has just received four helicopters donated by Latvia, which will soon be included in the aviation fleet of the Ukrainian army,” the minister wrote on Twitter and posted a photo of the Mi-2 and Mi-17 helicopters.

Russian Air Force @KpsZSU only has 4 helicopters that Latvia received - one of them included in the UK travel field. The message must support Ukraine until its territory is free from Russian employment. 1/5pic. twitter. com/hKlGRvcLsa.

According to him, helicopters will help the Ukrainian military in their counteroffensive operation..

“The stingers we sent six months ago helped delay the Russian invasion. Now that Ukrainian soldiers are launching counterattacks in many places, our donated helicopters will help military operations and save lives.! "

He also noted the importance of Western support for Ukraine until the entire Ukrainian territory is liberated from the Russian occupation forces..

“There must be a ceasefire and Russian troops must leave Ukraine. Only then will it be possible to talk about meaningful negotiations on a peaceful solution. For Russia, there is no way to Europe without forgiveness of Ukraine and its own reforms,” said Artis Pabriks.

Latvian Defense Minister is confident that only a complete victory for Ukraine can bring stable peace.

“What does the victory of Ukraine mean - it is up to her to decide. Our task is to support this decision,” the minister said..

According to him, it is now unacceptable to end the war in Ukraine on the terms of Russian President Vladimir Putin..

“If the war ends on Russia’s terms, then Putin will not learn the right lesson.. If he sees that with the help of military force he can achieve his goals and get out of hand, then the war in Europe will definitely not end,” the minister concluded..
