Russia has lost two squadrons of Su-35 fighter jets since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Gromov said.

To compensate for the lack of modern aviation, Russia plans to use obsolete Su-24M bombers.

“Over the past week, the air defense forces of Ukraine destroyed 27 air targets.

Due to significant losses of aviation equipment, the occupiers are considering the option of attracting obsolete bombers - the Su-24M, which were withdrawn from the combat strength of the aggressor during 2005-2018,"

The brigadier general also said that of the two dozen Su-35s that Russia supplied to China, only nine were serviceable, which indicates the low efficiency and unreliability of this equipment.. The weakest point of these aircraft is the onboard system..

“Su-35 aircraft also showed a low level of survivability. During the full-scale aggression, the invaders lost two squadrons of such aircraft, which is about 24 units,” Gromov added..
