To date, two thirds of the population have left the Donetsk region, and the remaining people do not want to leave their homes to the last. This was stated by the head of the Donetsk OVA Pavel Kirilenko on the air of the national telethon.

According to the official, at the moment there are still about 750 thousand people in the region.. The evacuation from the region is extremely slow due to the constant shelling of the occupiers. Kirilenko noted that most of those who remained in the Donetsk region until the last do not want to leave home, but he expects that the situation will change with the approach of the heating season.

“Yes, the pace is very low and most people have no desire to leave. But it's now. Summer is not over yet. We understand that with the onset of cold weather, people will act differently.. If the evacuation is slow, it is because there is a category of people who do not want to leave until the very end,” said the head of the OVA.

Recall that a few days ago, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on residents of the Donetsk region to leave as soon as possible.. For this, a special coordination headquarters was created, whose task is to evacuate more than 200 thousand people before the onset of the heating season..
