President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during an hour and a half conversation with Emmanuel Macron invited the leader of France to take part in the Crimean Platform online summit. The head of state spoke about this in a traditional evening address.

According to him, during the years of occupation, Russia turned Crimea into a large military prison camp, and tens of thousands of people became its victims..

“Crimea has become a springboard for attacks on the free territory of our country. The weak and insufficiently principled reaction to the occupation of Crimea in 2014 and in subsequent years became one of the prerequisites for the Russian aggression to grow to such proportions.. We will gradually restore justice in relation to our Crimea,"

In addition, Zelensky turned to Macron with a request to help unblock macro-financial assistance for 9 billion euros for our state..

“I asked the President to help us unblock macrofinance that has stalled in Europe.

I want to remind all the leaders that this is 9 billion. Euro. These are not trifles for us, but important social things.. These are our pensions, salaries, support for displaced persons, and therefore we are waiting for the relevant decisions of specific government officials,” Zelensky said..

Recall that last year French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian was unable to attend the Crimean Platform summit due to the crisis in Afghanistan.. He arrived in Kyiv the next day, on Independence Day.
