President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called the attack on Olenivka, Donetsk region, a deliberate Russian war crime, a deliberate massacre of Ukrainian prisoners of war. He stated this in the traditional evening address.
“When the defenders of Azovstal left the plant, the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross acted as guarantors of the life and health of our soldiers. Today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate and the authorized representative of the Verkhovna Rada issued a joint statement to the UN and the Red Cross, as to the guarantors of those agreements on the defenders of Azovstal. I support this statement.. Now the guarantors must respond, protect the lives of hundreds of Ukrainian prisoners of war,” Zelensky stressed..
He also once again stressed the need to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism..
“There must be a clear legal recognition of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. I especially appeal to the United States: a solution is needed, we need it now. Russia has proved by numerous terrorist attacks that it is the largest source of terrorism in the world today,” the President said..
He also said that information about the war crime committed by the Russian Federation in Olenivka was brought by Ukrainian diplomacy to the highest international level..
“The UN Security Council has been informed, all participants in international relations will know what really happened. Russia will not be able to deceive anyone,” he said..
The President once again stressed that every occupier who mocks Ukrainians must understand that retribution will be.
“Each of the Russian killers, who hopes that they will not be brought to justice, that they allegedly hide somewhere, let them know that they will answer in any case. Geography, time, borders of the wall will not stop fair retribution,"
As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held an urgent meeting on the terrorist attack in Olenivka.
